Disney World is an expensive holiday, and whether you have to stretch your budget in order to go, or you just love freebies, this is the guide for you. There are a few ways to stretch your budget further taking advantage of the free things at Disney World listed below.
1. Free planning tools
Disney offer free planning tools before you go, and it's totally free to get one sent out to you. You can also view a digital version online. Click here to get yours.
2. Free Transportation
Once you're on Disney property, it doesn't matter if you're a resort guest or even if you don't have Disney tickets, you can take full advantage of all the transportation options. This includes buses, boats and monorails.
3. Resort Hopping
This leads us onto resort hopping. As said above, it costs nothing to use Disney's transportation around Disney property, and you can go explore other hotels for free.
4. Magical Express
Flying into Orlando International airport? You won't need to pay for transfers! You'll get access to the Disney Magical Express service.
5. Free Magic band
If you stay at a Disney World resort, each guest will get a free Magic band. They're usually over $13 to buy if you stay elsewhere.
6. Celebration Buttons
You've probably seen people wear badges around the parks that say "Happy Birthday" or "We're celebrating". You can get them completely free! Ask for them at your hotel resort, at guest services or if you enter Magic Kingdom when it opens, there is usually a cast member on Main Street U.S.A giving them out.
7. Park Maps
This is one you probably take for granted, but help yourself to the park maps! They make great souvenirs.
8. Epcot fun stops for kids
At 11 locations around World Showcase Lagoon at Epcot are "Kidcot Fun Stops". Where kids can do some colouring activities for free.
9. Lego Imagination Center
At Disney Springs the LEGO shop hosts a massive play area filled with thousands of LEGO you can play with for free.
10. Free drinks/soda at Epcot
A popular favourite location is Club Cool at Epcot. Sponsored by Coca Cola, you can drink unlimited fountain beverages from around the world.
11. Free chocolate
Ghirardelli’s at Disney Springs is often giving out free samples of their delicious chocolate.
12. Water
Paying $3 for a bottle of Dasani water leave a bad taste in your mouth, but you can actually get free water from any food location in the parks. This includes Starbucks.
13. Disney park entry
If you're aged under 3 years old, you can enter the parks for free.
14. Disney buffet dining
Under 3 years can also eat at any buffet restaurant at Disney for free with any paying adult.
15. Boardwalk
Boardwalk (next to Epcot) does not require any theme park admission, and there's always stuff going on over there. There is regularly live performances from magicians, comedians and much more.
16. Wifi
There is free wifi at all the resorts, parks and Disney Springs.
17. Live bands
Visit House Of Blues and Raglan Road at Disney Springs for regular free live band acts.
18. Free Mickey Mouse stickers
Cast members sometimes have rolls of Mickey stickers. We got a load of pirate Mickey ones! Just ask.
19. Free cake
If you signup to Sprinkles' reward program at Disney Springs, you'll get a free cupcake on your birthday.
20. Free Starbucks
If you signup to Starbucks' US reward program, you'll get a free coffee on your birthday. Only redeemable at Disney Springs locations.
21. Miniature golf
If you've bought the UK exclusive ultimate Disney ticket you get access to 1 round of golf per day at Fantasia Gardens or Winter Summerland.
22. Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Campfire
Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-Along is a campfire show at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground that runs most evenings. It's a good and free way to see Disney characters outside of the parks.
23. Photopass photographers
If you don't have the Memory Maker you can ask any Disney Photopass photographers to take your picture using your own camera.
24. Package delivery
Staying at a Disney hotel? When making purchases in the parks, you can have them shipped to your hotel for free.
25. Wake up call
Staying at a Disney hotel? You can request a free wake up call from Mickey or Stitch.
26. Shampoos and soaps
Staying at a Disney hotel? The hotel shampoo bottles and soaps make great souvenirs and gifts! Even if you don't use them, put them in your suitcase and the next day Mousekeeping will replenish them for free.
27. Movies under the stars
Many resorts have screenings of classic Disney films which are projected on a large screen late in the evening.
28. Transportation cards
All cast members who drive buses, monorails and boats have transportation cards. Just ask!
29. Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom
Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom is the free interactive card game at Magic Kingdom. Stop by the Firehouse on Main Street U.S.A. for everything necessary to begin 9 exciting quests.
30. Drinks to go
If you dine at any table service restaurant and order any soft drinks (coke, lemonade etc) when it's time to leave you ask for another one in a take away cup at no extra charge.
