Best Place To Buy Disney World Tickets

Best Place To Buy Disney World Tickets

Guide
26-Mar-2018

To enter any of the Disney parks, you need Disney tickets! There are several ways to get your hands on Disney World tickets, and we're going to compare them for you. As Brits, we get access to what is a called a Disney Ultimate Ticket, which gives unlimited access to all of the theme parks and more. We'll be focusing on the Disney Ultimate Ticket in this article because it is the best and most cost effective way of buying your Disney tickets in the UK. If you're not yet sure how these work, you can view our Disney World ticket guide. If you know how they work and are ready to buy, we list all the different ways you can acquire your Disney World tickets, and the pros and cons that come with each method.

As A Holiday Package

Most people who book their Disney World holiday will have their tickets included their holiday package. A lot of people don't give it much thought, but some extras–like tickets–can cost more than they usually would when buying a package holiday. Some agents charge about £467 for a 14 day ultimate ticket. Which is above the price Disney charge direct without giving any extras (we'll get into that). The reason for this is mostly because you can haggle with holiday package operators and get an overall discount on the whole holiday. In return you may get cheaper insurance, for example. Holiday packages are all swings and roundabouts sometimes!

Direct Through Disney

The benchmark of the prices you are paying for your tickets should come from Disney. For 2019 Disney are charging:

Adult (9+) 7/14/21 day ultimate ticket > £399/£419/£439
Child (3-9) 7/14/21 day ultimate ticket > £379/£399/£419

The benefits of booking direct through Disney are:
Free Memory Maker
15% off UK Disney Store voucher
Adds directly into your My Disney Experience account

The downside to booking through Disney include having to pay for your tickets upfront, and the tickets being e-tickets only (some people still like having physical tickets too).

Online Vendors

The third method of getting your Disney World tickets is through online vendors. There are a few popular ones but these two I've used myself so I know they're legitimate. Each of each of them offer different extras at different times to entice you to buy through them. Depending on your circumstances and needs, they'll always be a vendor who will suit you.

Floridatix
First up we have Floridatix, who are the most popular from our readers due to them offering the ability to just pay a low deposit when booking. For 2019 the prices are:

Adult (9+) 14 day ultimate ticket > £409
Child (3-9) 14 day ultimate ticket > £389

The benefits of booking through Floridatix are:
Free Memory Maker
Physical tickets (can then be added to My Disney Experience account)
Pay just £10pp deposit
Florida "Big Deal Card" worth £25
Theme Park Shuttle Pass worth £70
Florida Mall discount voucher book

Customer Service

In the unlikely event you have any issues with your tickets, you want to know you can easily get help. When booking a package holiday with your tickets included, you'll be able to call or go in-store to sort out any issues. With Disney, the only option is to call (but you'll speak to a lovely american). With Flordiatix you are able to call, email (expect a day+ for a reply), they also reply on Twitter and Facebook.

Summary

As can see, each method has its pros and cons, but only you can decide which is best for you. Booking a package holiday? Then get your tickets included (but ask for a discount). Booked your holiday separately and looking for tickets but can only pay a deposit now? Book through one of the vendors. Want tickets added direct to your Disney account without any fuss? Then book direct through Disney. Going to do a lot of shopping outside the parks? Then using the vendors and getting the Florida Mall discount voucher book may be most cost effective for you. I could run through 100 scenarios but I'm sure you get the idea!
