The Disney Magical Express is a complimentary coach (or as the Americans like to call it "motorcoach") transfer service from Orlando International airport to your Disney World resort hotel. This service is only available from Orlando International airport, and is not available from Sanford International Airport. As we describe in our Sanford vs Orlando article this is one of the perks in choosing an airline that lands in Orlando International airport.
When you book your Disney World holiday package that uses an airline that lands in Orlando International airport, they will book the Magical Express for free if you are not going to rent a car. You'll be taken, with your luggage, to your Disney World resort hotel when you land.
This service is available between the hours of 5:00 AM and 10:00 PM. Most UK flights land in Orlando in the late afternoon.
When you land, you'll have to go through U.S. Immigration, grab your luggage and then find your way to the Magical Express area. After you grab your luggage, you'll board a monorail that will take you to the main building. From there you keep to the left and head down the stairs (or lift) to level 1 and then make a right (or left if you're getting out of the lift). You keep walking until you get to the end of the building where you'll see Disney cast members eager for your arrival. There are plenty of signposts pointing you in the right direction, you won't get lost.
You check-in with a Disney cast member then you'll be sent in one of the many queues depending on the resort you're staying at. When it's time to board, you'll be called forward. The driver will take your luggage and store them underneath the coach. When on board, you get to enjoy the whimsical Disney cartoons and welcome video.
When you arrive, the driver will take out your luggage and you'll be ready to go check-in to your resort. Don't forget to tip the driver!
One day before the worst day of the year (having to go home), you'll get a Magical Express ticket on your hotel room door. This will give you your pickup information. Go down to the main lobby where you were dropped off at the time displayed on your ticket to get your ride back to the airport.
Then as you journey home, let the Disney Blues settle in.
