How To Complete The UK Travel Passenger Locator Form
|
Guide 14-Nov-2021 |
Before you return back to the UK, it is compulsory to complete a passenger locator form. The passenger locator form must be filled out online within 48 hours of returning back in the UK. It's a good idea to set a reminder to make sure you remember to complete it on the second-last or last day of your holiday. You can include someone under 18 years old who is travelling with you on your form, if you are staying together at the same UK address.
The form is located on the official gov.uk website @ https://www.gov.uk/provide-journey-contact-details-before-travel-uk
The form is quite simple to fill out, but does take a few minutes. I have already gone through this process as I recently visited Disneyland Paris, so this will give you an idea of the process required.
What you will need
To complete the form, you will need:
Your passport details or the travel document you’ll use when you arrive at the UK borderYour travel details, including times and dates (flight, train etc)The address(es) you will be staying in the UK for the first 10 daysBooking reference numbers for any COVID-19 tests you must take after arriving in the UK
The process
You'll be prompted to create an account to save your details if you plan to travel quite frequently. Then you'll choose which method you'd like to be contacted. The options are phone, SMS, and email. Enter your personal details (exactly how they are on your passport)Enter your passport number and detailsYour ongoing travel plans (if any)Your arrival information. For example, flight number and times.Declare the arrival and departure times and dates of the country you're visitingDeclare your vaccination status Upload the QR code for dose 2 (take a screenshot) generated through the NHS app. (Even though it asks for dose 2, it kept telling me it was the wrong dose, so I uploaded dose 1 and it worked, so keep an eye out for this if they've not fixed it)The addresses you'll be staying at for the first 10 days after landing back in the UKThen input your COVID-19 test references numbers (more on this on day 2 testing below)Then print or save the PDF to your phone.
You will be required to show both the PDF of this form and your NHS vaccination QR code (if applicable) before you leave the country and again when you land at border control in the UK.
You must have already purchased your day 2 tests for your return. You will also need to save the reference numbers given to you to submit to the passenger locator form. See our day 2 testing guide here: Day 2 Travel Covid-19 Testing Guide When Returning To The UK
