Is Disney World For Me?

Is Disney World For Me?

Guide
21-Feb-2017

Yes.

Okay, perhaps you need a little more. Here we go.

Whether you're 5, 15, 55, or 555, there is plenty for you to enjoy and do at the Walt Disney World Resort. The variety of attractions, parades, shows, eating, drinking is off the charts. Take a glance over the questions below to see if its a good fit for your holiday choice.

Do you like Disney?
That may seem like an obvious question. But to be honest, I wasn't a huge Disney fan before visiting Florida. I don't believe its a prerequisite as people might think. I know people who have gone who are not huge Disney fans, but enjoy the offerings and atomoshpwere Disney World offers.

Do you enjoy restaurants?
There are over 100 restaurants throughout the parks and the resorts to choose from. Covering all different cuisines and price points. From delicious buffets to fine dining, there will be plenty of restaurant experiences to choose from. If you love to eat, this is for you.

Do you enjoy drinking?
Alcoholic beverages are available throughout the parks and resorts. Themed lounges to pool bars, there are a wide range of beers, cocktails and wines to choose from. Our favourite is to walk around Epcot's World Showcase and enjoy a drink in each of the countries. Disney don't like drunks, and although they sell alcohol, it is quite pricey.

Do you like high thrill rides?
Although Disney's rides aren't exactly the highest of thrill rides, there is a few rides to appease the daredevils, which include Rock'n'Roller Coaster, Everest and the Tower Of Terror. But the majority of rides at Disney are 'family friendly', even though some are a little more extreme than others.

Are you taking children?
Disney World is not just for adults, you can take your kids, too. And they'll love it. The meet and greets and seeing their favourite characters in real life will be remembered forever. The only thing to keep in mind when taking children, especially smaller children, is that they meet the height requirements of the attractions.

Do you like hot weather?
Weather at Florida is so different than here. Random 3pm showers, thunder storms like nothing we get in the UK that suddenly disappear after an hour, and lots more. Click here to see a fascinating thunder storm we filmed a couple years ago. Depending on when you go, temperatures range from 15c to 30c. It can be hot, but it's a different kind of heat than what we get here. It's bearable. But every shop and attraction is air conditioned, so it's easy to get out the heat if you need to.

There is nowhere quite like it. It has a fantastic atmosphere wherever you are, and it really feels like a completely different world. As it is not a cheap holiday destination, you wont get many of the kids you'll find at Alton Towers there. You'll find people respect each other and environment around them. There's nothing quite like seeing what you've seen in the movie theatre in a massive immersive environment. That coupled with fantastic character interactions, awesome staff (cast members), shows, food, attractions, nothing beats a Disney holiday.

Nowhere is perfect. What are you hiding?
Disney is a specific type of holiday that won't cater to everyone. It is not a relaxing holiday, although you can relax in between the madness. You will queue for things, there will be some waiting around, and there is also a lot of people. But it's a small price to pay for the experience and memories you'll create doing it.
