[Updated] Complimentary Bread Rumoured To be Axed From Table Service Restaurants
News 04-Mar-2020
Disney has released a statement (and perhaps killed the idea) after guests have been speaking up about lack of complimentary bread at some table service restaurants at Walt Disney World recently, from servers telling them the free bread is been phased out.
"We are continuing complimentary bread service at all table-service restaurants. At this time, there are no plans to discontinue complimentary bread service at any of our table-service restaurants."
Original article follows.
A convincing rumour being talked about on social media that Disney appears to be phasing out the complimentary bread you get when dining at a table service restaurant. (Remember, nothing is ever "free", the bread is already priced into the high prices you're paying for the meal.) This is on the back of noticeable price increases for 2021 including price increases for the Disney dining plan.
Some restaurants, including Coral Reef and Tony’s Town Square Restaurant, are no longer offering bread, and cast members telling guests it's being phased out. Instead, guests can purchase Garlic Knots that cost $9 at Tony’s Town Square Restaurant.
If this indeed a new cost cutting policy being phased in at the restaurants, we'll no doubt here and more and more about over the coming weeks.
