Disney CEO Bob Iger Says No More Price Increases Any Time Soon
Disney CEO Bob Iger has stated no more price increases any time soon, even though Disney are investing heavily in the parks.
Disney CEO Bob Iger was interviewed by CNBC after Disney's quarterly earnings call, which resulted in some interesting quotes. He talked about Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge crowds and general price increases. Disney has long been criticised of its' continuous price increases, and this is the first time I've seen the CEO talk about it directly.
"Do you think you've hit the limit of how high the prices can go [at the parks]?" CEO Bob Iger was asked.
"Look, I don't think we have a pricing issue at our parks. We have put a lot of capital into those business in the last number of years, and we're continuing to put capital in... as we build at these parks particularly using IP that’s created from our movies and television shows that is so popular the experience improves, so that gives us some pricing elasticity, the product continues to be in demand. No, we're definitely not tapped out, we did take price increase this last year, but I don't think you can expect any, any time soon"
