Disney CFO Says International Visitors Low But Expects To Fully Return To Pre-Pandemic Levels
News - WDW 11-Aug-2022
On The Walt Disney Company's most recent earnings call, Disney CFO Christine McCarthy mentioned the current status of international visitors to Walt Disney World. Of course, the US borders only reopened to us towards the end of last year, and many of us have been rushing to go back. She noted that international visitors are much lower than pre-pandemic levels, however they expect to fully the international mix of guests to return. Perhaps the return of the dining plan will tempt international guests back to Walt Disney World.
She went on to talk about international visitors, "One of the things that we've seen is during the pandemic, international visitation to our domestic parks, primarily Walt Disney World was non-existent. It has proceeded to come back, very nicely, but still below the traditional range that we've given you, which is around 17, 18% up to the low 20s. But it's made significant progress and we expect the international visitation, when it is fully back, to actually be additive to margins because those guests tend to stay longer at the parks, and they spend more money when they're there as well."
