Disney Quest at Disney Springs will finally be closed on July 2nd 2017.
The decline of Disney Quest has been obvious over the last few years. It's had barely any updates and has seen attendance decline rapidly. Disney first announced that Disney Quest would be closing back in June 2015, and although the actual close date has been moved several times, July 2 seems to be the final day of operation.
For many years now, us brits have had access to the Disney Quest including in our 7/14/21 day ultimate Disney World tickets, even though I didn't realise it was included until a few visits in.
Disney Quest was a lot of fun, and even though the general gaming arcade industry is declining overall, Disney Quest was at the height of popularity and innovation when it first opened. I think if Disney did continue to invest in the product, keeping up with the latest technologies it would still be a success. The catch 22 is that it's hard for Disney to justify investing money (with no apparent sponsor) with attendance falling, but attendance falling because it wasn't being updated.
Disney Quest will be missed for sure, and time will tell if NBA themed attraction that will open in that building will be enjoyed as much.
