Epcot Overhaul Begins With Character Spot, Electric Umbrella and Starbucks Closures
The closures at Epcot will now begin as the overhaul of the park starts.
Epcot will soon become a construction site as major changes are set to be made to the park. Disney has just announced the first wave of closures as they start to redevelop Future World.
The Character Spot will close on September 8, 2019 and most the characters are being moved to temporary locations around the park.
On November 23, 2019, the Electric Umbrella quick service restaurant will be closing.
Starbucks will also be closed sometime this "fall" and will move to a separate temporary location.
Epcot's major overhaul will be complete by 2022.
