Hurricane Irma Lost Disney $100million In Business

Disney releases their earnings for this quarter, along with information of the impact of Hurricane Irma.


Disney today released their quarterly results. Parks and resorts revenue was $4.67B (up 6%), and operating income was $746M (up 7%). What's interesting on the earnings call is they described the impact of Hurricane Irma. We were there when Irma hit and shared our experience. The park was closed for 2 days, as well as many of their cruise line itineraries getting changed.

Disney said that the hurricane cost $100milliion in business, and reduced their year over-year growth by 3%.

Hurricane's are expensive.
