Nationwide Peanut Butter Recall Resulting In Snacks Being Removed At Walt Disney World
News - WDW 30-May-2022
The Jif branded peanut butter (via Orlando Sentinel) last week has been linked to salmonella outbreak in 12 states. Dozens have gotten sick, and several hospitalised. In response, the company the behind the product - The J.M. Smucker Company - issued a recall for those states. However, that recall has now been extended nationwide.
Jif is primarily the brand of peanut butter Disney uses at Walt Disney World for their snacks. Over the weekend, items that contain peanut butter have been pulled from the menus.
At Gideon's Bakehouse in Disney Springs, their "flavour of the month" is peanut butter. With snacks including the Peanut Butter Crunch, Peanut Butter Chocolate Swirl, and the PB&J Cake Slices. They've now said all of their limited flavours this month that are peanut butter based are currently unavailable.
