Pound Sterling Back Up To 1.40 Against The US Dollar
[UK] Thanks to a rough couple years, the pound has been weak against the dollar. But recent gains has had the pound strengthened against the dollar.
In May 2019 the Pound Sterling to US dollar rate went as low as £1>$1.26, which any Walt Disney World fan hates to see. The rate has not been doing a whole lot since thanks to the unknowns of Brexit (among other factors). However, during the last few months of the pandemic, Pound Sterling has been creeping up in value against the US dollars.
At the time of writing we are now back at £1>$1.40. Even though we can't go to Disney World yet, if this trend continues our next trips might sting a little less with slightly better exchange rates. We're still a little way off the long term "average" and far from the £1>$2 days we enjoyed many years ago - although I doubt that'll ever happen again.
Disney are now letting guests book their 2022 Walt Disney World holidays, and as vaccinations continue and the exchange rates improve, there's a lot to look forward to.
