President Biden has just addressed the world about America's response to new COVID-19 variant (Omicron). Many people with upcoming Walt Disney World holidays, as well as the travel industry in general, were concerned President Biden would close the US borders again. In his speech today (via the BBC) he announced there will not be new lockdowns or shutdowns, and that the best way for the citizens of the world to be protected again this variant, and future variants, is to get vaccinated and also receive your booster shot. The US has banned travel from some southern African countries where the variant was discovered to give them time understand the variant better and "take the right protective measures", but it's not a long term solution as the spread of this are variant is already happening around the world.
In terms of preventative measures, he encouraged Americans to wear masks indoors and in public places, but said that further travel bans were unlikely.
