President Donald Trump announced on Thursday a new flight ban for 26 European countries (excluding the UK & Ireland). On Saturday, he said if the situation here in the UK doesn't improve, he will look to add the UK to that banned list.
Many people are having issues with cancelling/changing their booking, or claiming on travel insurance at the moment due to flights from the UK still in operation. Even though the Walt Disney World theme parks are closed and the flights still allowed, holiday's are going ahead. If Trump adds the UK to the ban list, at least there is some financial relief for the UK guests due to travel for the rest of the month.
With the UK government moving from the "contain" to "delay" phase as the virus spreads, to try to extend the peak over the summer months to help protect the pressure on the NHS. It's likely this ban will be put in place as confirmed cases grow (although the UK is now only testing if you require hospital treatment), but there is still a lot of uncertainty, and it will depend on how the situation develops.
