UK Scraps Pre-Departure Travel Test Requirement
|News - Travel
A small relief for the travel industry was given today as the UK government announces (via Sky
) that the pre-departure test when returning to England has now been scrapped. The rule change will apply from 4am 7th January and apply to just England for now (sorry Scots & Welsh).
So, starting 4am January 7th, to travel to abroad to Walt Disney World:
All travellers aged 2+ are required to take a pre-departure (telehealth observed) LFTAn LFT 3-5 days after arriving in the USA (only for all unvaccinated children under 17)Then a day 2 PCR test after you've returned home for travellers aged 4+.
This will be a huge relief to many travellers, not just because of the reduced cost due to testing, but removing the fear of testing positive before departing and having to isolate abroad.
