UK Working With EU Over AstraZeneca Vaccine "Administrative Hurdle" That Will Be "Straightened Out"

The Daily Telegraph reported this morning that some Indian-made batches of the AstraZeneca vaccine won't be recognised under the EU's new vaccine passport scheme. This has caused worry for those with upcoming Disneyland Paris trips booked. 5 million Brits have received one or two of the jabs from batches 4120Z001, 4120Z002, and 4120Z003. This has been reported alongside recent articles published that the US is saying the same sort of thing because they've not approved the AstraZeneca jab for use over there, which is causing worry for those with upcoming Walt Disney World holidays booked. However, the WHO does recognise AstraZeneca, and the BBC later reported on this directly.
The UK transport secretary said to "discount" any media reports suggesting that uncertainty over the status of the AstraZeneca jab in the US has led to a deadlock in the talks.

There has been much upset over this, but keep in mind travel hasn't fully opened up for us Brits yet to non-green countries, so speculation on what agreements are currently being worked out (which are clearly not finalised yet) isn't productive.

Sky News is reporting since the Daily Telegraph article that Downing Street says it will work to ensure "safe and open travel" following the concerns that their COVID jabs aren't recognised, and that this is currently "an administrative hurdle" will be "straightened out",.
The government now says it will work with the European Commission on mutual recognition of vaccine certification and stressed that all AstraZeneca vaccines used in the UK are the "same product and subject to regular checks".

And Professor Adam Finn - from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) - sought to reassure people that the "an administrative hurdle" will be "straightened out".

This issue is being brought up by all corners of the industry. COVAX has called for all government authorities to recognise as "fully vaccinated" all people who have received COVID-19 vaccines authorised by the World Health Organization (which all doses of AstraZeneca are).

It's also worth noting that individual EU countries can (and do) accept the NHS app as proof (regardless of vaccine), but until countries start going green (which likely won't be until at least the end of July), it's not worth losing sleep over.
