Updated Covid-19 Models Indicate Possible Relaxed Restrictions Starting June
New models suggest that things can start going back to normal June 1st, but it is still unclear when Walt Disney World and large gatherings will be allowed.
Healthdata.org is a great website which showcases the models for the current Coronavirus pandemic. They have just updated their models with a new statement.
After June 1, 2020, relaxing social distancing may be possible with containment strategies that include testing, contact tracing, isolation, and limiting gathering size.
The state of Florida is now past its' current peak of deaths. The model shows that starting June 1st, it could be safe to begin going back to normal. This doesn't mean Walt Disney World will suddenly open on June 1st, but Disney appear to be gearing for that date as they're accepting resort bookings and restaurant reservations starting June 1st, but it's unclear at what capacity the parks can and will open in.
In caparison, the UK is still 3 days away from it's estimated death peak.
Keep in mind, even if Walt Disney World opens June 1st, it's still not yet known if travel bans will be lifted.
