USA Today is reporting a 27-year-old woman was arrested on October 8th for trying to carry a firearm into the Magic Kingdom.
Officers say Marcia Temple hid her purse behind a planter before proceeding through security metal detectors at the Disney Ticket and Transportation Center on Oct. 8, according to a redacted incident report provided by the sheriff's office.
Temple was spotted ditching her purse by a hospital worker who was conducting temperature checks at the security checkpoint. The hospital employee notified Disney Security, who alerted Deputy Sheriff Nadia Engwall, the report states.
The abandoned purse contained a 9 mm firearm holding ten rounds, including one in the chamber, the report adds. Engwall says the weapon was "readily accessible" inside Temple's purse.
She was charged with carrying a Concealed Firearm. She was also banned from visiting Walt Disney World ever again.
