Breakfast At Topolino's Terrace At Disney's Riviera Resort Review
Review - WDW 21-Dec-2022
Topolino's Terrace is located on the top floor of Disney's Riviera Resort. For breakfast, Disney host a "Breakfast à la Art with Mickey & Friends".
Finding this place was a little confusing. We hopped off the Disney Skyliner and headed towards Disney's Riviera Resort. This was my first time at this new resort, so I just headed for the main centre building. Trying to locate the main building was a bit perplexing. I didn't realise until after the meal that the main floor (where check-in and the shop is) was on the second floor, not the ground floor. We eventually found some dodgy-looking elevators tucked in the corner, so we just went into those and went up as high as we could.
We made it to Topolino's! It didn't seem to be particularly well organised, as the queue for the check-in desk extends back to the elevators. If it were any more full, we wouldn't have been able to get out of the elevator.
We checked in and got escorted to our table. This restaurant is absolutely beautiful! It's laid out well, it's very spacious, and the seating is all plush and comfy.
There are usually 4 characters here. Sadly, my favourite Donald Duck was a no-show. Mickey, Minnie & Daisy were out that morning meeting guests dressed in their arty costumes.
Our server offered us some drinks first. We of course ordered coffee and some POG juice. We were then given the bread service served in this adorable art-themed bowl.
The bread and croissants were so fresh, and the accompanying butter was delicious. The apple cake that tasted like apple crumble in cake form. We were then told we could order one thing each off the hot menu. We ordered Quiche Gruyere and two eggs any style.
There's nothing really to shout about here. They were tasty and well-cooked, even though the portion sizes were probably a little too small. Some readers have told us that you can order extra "side portions" of things off the menu, but we can't speak for that as it's something we weren't offered. I'm just going to review this with the experience we got and what we were offered.
At the end of the meal, we were invited to stay and watch a little show the characters put on, similar to other character restaurants like Tusker House. We could then go outside and take in the amazing views of Walt Disney World from the top of Disney's Riviera Resort.
We left and went to check out the resort shop and saw they had a plush of Mickey in his art costume and I just had to get it.
These meals cost $42 each ($45 now) which totalled $105 total including tip. For a relatively small one-course breakfast and bread service seems a little expensive. We left a little unsatisfied, both in terms of our stomachs and overall experience. The character interactions were good but not great. I would have a hard time justifying doing it again and would much rather go to any of the character breakfast buffets (Chef Mickey's, Tusker House etc). This is a one-and-done for us as we were given no real experience worth returning to.
