Due to hurricane Ian, our last few days at Walt Disney World were a bit disrupted. So on one of our final days, we spent the night at Disney Springs (as the hurricane took away one of our Disney Springs nights) so we grabbed a last-minute reservation at the Boathouse (as Homecomin' was full). In summary:
✅ Bread rolls are out of this world
✅ Great atmosphere and feels quite upscale indeed
✅ Quality food that's well cooked
✅ Great service all around
🆗 Tables are well positioned but are quite rammed together
It's funny, I first visited The Boathouse with the whole family back in 2015 and hated it. It took years before I considered giving it another chance. It seems that the older I get, the more I like it. The restaurant has such a unique and relaxing atmosphere, even though it's quite loud in there. There are lots of props over the walls and all the tables are set up nicely with candlelight that's effective with the low lighting throughout.
We first ordered some drinks. An espresso martini and their new Duck, Duck, Razz offering. Which is a Stoli Raspberry Blue Martini garnished with a mini rubber duck.
Our server brought the bread service to our table, and these were one of the most delicious bread services I've ever had in my life. I remember the bread service being good previously- but not this good. I could have happily sat and eaten them until I was full.
We skipped appetisers because we wanted to share a big bowl of mac and cheese with our mains- and big it was! It was very nice, and of course, we couldn't finish it, as much as we'd like to.
For mains, we had the Filet Mignon Sliders, which were delicious and excellent value at just $16.
We also ordered the NY Steak with a baked potato instead of fries ($32).
Everything was delicious. Both the sliders and the steak were both very well-cooked and very satisfying. We didn't venture into any seafood this time, which I know the Boathouse is known for. Maybe next time.
Our server was great. He offered us all the bread rolls we wanted, as well as keeping our drinks topped up. The Boathouse is a lovely restaurant and the meal can be as expensive or inexpensive as you wish. It's one of those places that's just nice to be. It's definitely worth a visit.
