Should you Buy "Ultimate Tickets" Now Or Wait For "Magic Tickets"?
Guide 10-Oct-2021
Disney recently announced the end of the UK "Ultimate Ticket". (For all the details check out our Disney Replaces UK "Ultimate Ticket" With "Magic Tickets" article). New UK exclusive date-specific tickets called "Magic Tickets" will be taking their place starting November 3rd, 2021.
If you're planning a 2022 Florida holiday and not buying your tickets as part of a Walt Disney World resort package then you have a decision to make. If you do have your Disney tickets + Disney resort hotel package booked, these ticket changes will not apply to you because the first day of your tickets will be the day you check-in to your Disney hotel.
Also, if you have already paid your 2022 Walt Disney World tickets in full (or plan to pay them in full before November 2nd) the ultimate tickets will be honoured. If you have only put a deposit down, you will have to pay the balance before November 2nd or they'll be rolled into the new "Magic Tickets".
At the time of writing, pricing has not been announced for these new tickets (I'll leave it up to you to guess if they'll end up being less). The prices of the new "Magic Ticket" will vary depending on the time of the year, it won't be one set cost like the "Ultimate Tickets" have in the past. So, you have two options before October ends if you're looking to buy Disney World tickets for 2022.
Option 1
Before the end of October, you book and pay for the current "Ultimate Tickets" in full for 2022 now and have the flexibility to use them at any point during 2022. By doing this you lock in and pay the price they currently are and won't be subject to the seasonable price adjustments that will be coming. This applies to tickets bought direct through Disney or through a UK ticket vendor.
Option 2
You buy "Ultimate Tickets" for 2022 now and pay a £20 deposit through UK ticket vendor (you cannot do this option direct through Disney) which guarantees the price they are set when you put down the deposit. They will be automatically rolled into the new "Magic Tickets" where you have to declare the first day you will use them, but you're guaranteed the price of the ticket will remain the same as when you put the deposit down.
