British Guide To How Theme Park Entry Works Now Theme Park Reservations Are Scrapped

Guide 10-Jan-2024 |
Everything Brits need to know about park reservations being scrapped using their Disney Magic Tickets.

Disney announced that starting January 9th, 2024, guests will no longer have to make theme park reservations if they have a date-based ticket. The return to normality is now upon us! There are some tickets that will require theme park reservations, but the majority of Brits won't run into these. Disney has confirmed which tickets still require theme park reservations and the tickets that won't.

The good news here is that the high majority of UK guests will not have to make any theme park reservations for stays starting January 9th, 2024, and beyond. This is because the primary two ways UK guests visit Walt Disney World are covered.
If you have booked a 2024 hotel+ticket package, or a 2024 flight+hotel+ticket package you WILL NOT need to make any theme park reservations, as this falls into the "Vacation package with date-based tickets" category.
Tip: You can learn all about the UK-exclusive Disney Magic Tickets in our Walt Disney World UK Magic Tickets Guide.
If you've booked a off-site hotel or villa and have purchased the UK-exclusive 7 or 14-day Magic Ticket you also WILL NOT need to make any theme park reservations as this again falls in the "date-based multi-day ticket" category.
A "date-based ticket" is a ticket that requires you to choose a start date at the time of purchase, which the UK-exclusive 7 or 14-day Magic Tickets require you to do. The start date of your tickets on a hotel+ticket package will be your check-in day.
If you ever gifted Walt Disney World tickets as compensation, these will usually be non-dated tickets, and if you can and want to use these, a theme park reservation will be required.
