UK Guest Guide To Theme Park Reservations Being Scrapped In 2024
Guide 08-May-2023
Disney has announced that starting January 9th, 2024, guests will no longer have to make theme park reservations if they have a date-based ticket. Disney has confirmed the types of tickets that will still require theme park reservations and types of tickets that won't.
No Theme Park Reservation Required
Date-based 1-day ticket
Date-based multi-day ticket
Vacation package with date-based tickets
Theme Park Reservation Required
Student group tickets
Sport and Convention ticket
Annual Pass
All other ticket types not mentioned above
The good news here is that the high majority of UK guests will not have to make any theme park reservations for stays starting January 9th, 2024, and beyond. This is because the primary two ways UK guests visit Walt Disney World are covered.
If you're booked to stay off-site and have purchased the UK-exclusive 7 or 14-day Magic Ticket you also WILL NOT need to make any theme park reservations, as this again falls in the "Date-based multi-day ticket" category. A "date-based ticket" is a ticket that requires you to choose a start date at the time of purchase, which the UK-exclusive 7 or 14-day Magic Tickets do.
2023 Stays
For stays and visits throughout the whole of 2023 and through January 8th, 2024, park reservations are still required regardless of ticket type.
