Where To Rebook Disney World After Thomas Cook Collapse
Guide 25-Sep-2019
If you had a package holiday booked with Thomas Cook, that holiday has now been cancelled. If you booked direct with Disney and added Thomas Cook flights on, you should be able to rearrange those flights and still keep your Disney package. If that's you, then you should contact Disney for assistance.
If, like me, you had a Thomas Cook holiday booked, it is now cancelled. Thankfully, mine's not until 2020, so I have time to rearrange, but I know many had upcoming trips which cannot be rearranged so easily.
If your holiday was booked for 2020, you should have time to rearrange it. Especially as the free dining offer is still online. However, don't be rushed into making a decision, as I know many agents are going around Facebook asking people to rebook and it's causing a bit of a panic (not saying some of agents aren't genuine and courteous).
Keep in mind the 2020 free dining offer ends 05 November, 2019.
Book Through Disney Directly
This might be my new go-to when booking Disney. You can book your hotel, room and ticket package direct through Disney, and then add flights when they become available to create a ATOL protected holiday. Why direct through Disney? Well, no company can go bust that will void your booking other than Disney itself. And if Disney go out of business, well, you have nowhere to go, do you? The $100 gift card offer with free dining is still available.
We're here with TUI this year and they have been great so far - the Dreamliner planes are just lovely. However, booking through TUI means you're giving up the giftcard, but they still do give free dining. They do now offer no booking fee if you pay by direct debit, too. They also fly to Sanford, not Orlando International. Whether that's a pro or con is your own preference.
Virgin can be a little more pricey, but whether that extra price is worth it to you, only you know. They are still offering free dining and a $100 gift card.
I hope as many people as possible are successful rearranging their Disney World holiday.
