About Mickey From The UK
A Disney Parks news and travel resource for UK visitors - covering Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris, Disney Cruise Line and Travel.
Mickey From The UK is a UK Disney Parks news and travel resource founded in 2017 by Ash Hales. It was created to address the lack of websites and resources that focused on Disney Parks content from a British perspective. Before creating Mickey From The UK, I regularly followed Disney Parks news due to my love of the parks - I've been visiting Walt Disney World and Disneyland Paris for over three decades - but found it frustrating to sift through content that included offers only for US guests, Disney products exclusively sold on the US Disney Store, and Florida resident ticket discounts. I wanted to stay updated on both Disney Parks news and travel news related to Orlando from the UK, but the volume of unrelated content made it increasingly time-consuming to sift through.
How Mickey From The UK Started
I thought I couldn't be the only British Disney Parks enthusiast who wanted to stay updated with Disney Parks news and content without all the US-specific information. As a web developer by day, I created Mickey From The UK myself and started growing the community in 2017. I published our first article, "Welcome To Mickey From The UK - A Disney Blog For UK Guests", on 2nd March 2017, and have been publishing Disney news, guides and reviews constantly since then through to today.
My goal was to create a resource and community that would help people make the most of their Disney holidays. A Disney holiday is an exciting and expensive endeavour that requires quite a bit of planning these days, and I share news, advice, guides, and reviews about things I wish I knew earlier so you can have the best time possible.
What We Cover
The website has evolved over the years, but Mickey From The UK initially focused on Walt Disney World in the early days. Recently, I've expanded the content to include Disneyland® Paris, Disney Cruise Line, and Disney Store. I focus on sharing the important news and experiences related to Disney Parks and UK travel that are relevant to British Disney Parks fans, as well as sharing my own reviews and experiences.
Every article on this site is written and fact-checked by me personally. Wherever there's a UK angle - flight routes, GBP pricing, UK booking options, how a change actually affects British visitors - I add it. Some stories are worth covering simply because they're relevant to Disney fans regardless of nationality, but the site's focus stays on what matters for UK guests. You can read more about how I approach coverage on our editorial policy page or contact us for more details.
About Our Reviews
Here at Mickey From The UK we celebrate and encourage you to take that Disney trip. We're here to give UK visitors the news and information they need to have the best time possible on their Disney holiday. We believe you should take that trip - we know first hand the joy it can bring and we'd never advocate skipping it. You only live once, and for millions of UK families, Disney is one of the things worth doing while you can.
Our reviews are based on our own visits, our own experience and our own money unless we say otherwise. We're honest with both the good and the not-so-good. When that happens, the aim isn't to put you off Disney - it's to point you towards a better option, whether that's a different restaurant, hotel or experience. We want your time and money going towards the parts of the trip that will make it even better - which is good for you, and good for Disney too.
