For those who don't know, this summer, UK residents can set sail on a unique staycation aboard the Disney Magic. There will be limited 2-, 3- and 4-night cruises departing from Southampton, Newcastle, and London Tilbury (Liverpool sold out).
This might read like I'm fresh from a Disney vacation, and while that is true, it's the honest truth. Worth is very subjective. What might be worth something to me, might not be to you, and vice versa. However, in regards to the Magic At Sea Disney Cruise UK staycation, I laid out why I think it was great value before I embarked on my voyage in my article Magic At Sea - Why It's Incredible Value.
Now, after actually experiencing the Magic At Sea Disney Cruise, my opinion hasn't changed.
I've seen some people compare this to a CenterParcs break in terms of cost - and while that's a different offering - when you're comparing those sorts of gateways, it's really quite easy to see the value of Magic At Sea.
Besides, if you're reading this, you're likely a raging Disney fan and have been on several Disney park holidays, and you know exactly the cost to joy ratio you get out of Disney trips. Isn't that why we keep going? Magic At Sea is by no means cheap, however, you certainly get your money's worth when you add up the sum of all its parts. A fantastic Disney stateroom All you can eat fine dining, casual dining, soft and hot drinks Encounters with over 30 Disney characters, many with unique to Disney Cruise Line outfits Endless entertainment including deck shows, theatre shows, game shows, kids clubs, and lots more Outdoor pools Cinema showing new Disney movies Disney Dreams Theatre show.
After the 18+ months we've all had, the absolute Joy of seeing characters again, being around other Disney fans and cast members, can't be overstated. While I am the part of the crowd that will gobble up any special unique Disney experiences like this, even if you break it down subjectively, the value is easy to see. I have paid a lot more for a lot less in the past.
My review of the experience only touches the surface of how great an experience it was. This is the perfect opportunity to experience Disney Cruise Line without having to leave the country.
I wish I had more negative things to say, but I just don't. Even with some of the health & safety measures in place, a lot of them actually make the experience better. There were times we had portions of the upper deck to ourselves.
If cruising isn't your thing, I hear you. It's never appealed to me, and this was my first cruise ever. However, this isn't a traditional cruise. I sort of treated it like a few days aboard a floating Disney resort. To me, it was absolutely worth it.
