How long does it take for an ESTA to be approved?

Don't be scared if it says pending once you've finished your ESTA application. Officially it can take up to 72 hours to get your answer, although we've been lucky and always had ours approved within minutes. To check the status simply log in again using the application number you are given once you have submitted your payment.
