Is there VAT (sales tax) on Disney World shopping?

America have 'sales tax', which is essentially is the same as our VAT, except sales tax is much less, and handled a little differently.

Sales tax is around 6% in Florida, compared to our fantastic 20% VAT rate.

A big difference, which not everyone is accustomed to, is that the price you see on the shelf, is the price excluding tax. Unless specified it includes tax, the sales tax will be added on the till at the rate of about 6%. So you if you see a Minnie Mouse bag thats priced at $100, it will actually cost you around $106.
