It's friendship day every day at Crystal Palace! Crystal Palace is an American fare character buffet where Winnie The Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, and Eeyore will stop by for hugs, photos, and autographs. In Summary:
✅ The characters were great! We got a couple of them a second time who were just as interactive as the first time (they usually just wave past on the second run). All 4 were lovely
✅ All the food was hot, fresh, and tasted good, but….
🆗 While the food was tasty and overall good quality, I found the overall selection pretty lacklustre. There isn’t too much range, which might be an issue for picky eaters.
🆗 Service was mostly good. Felt a little rushed towards the end. The bill brought over during dessert (which I generally don’t mind) but then we asked if we were done with it- while still eating our desserts
✅ However, there’s no better place to get up close with Pooh & the gang!
Crystal Palace cost $55 ($59.99 now) each, which is the standard price for Walt Disney World character buffets. Once you're seated, your server will take your drinks order - standard soft drinks are included - and then you're free to go up to the buffet. The characters make their way around the restaurant and will come to your table. You can then have a hug, take photos, and do autographs.
The food is your standard American fare. So we're talking fried chicken, mash, mac and cheese, various portions of meat etc- all good stuff.
Everything you see here was fresh and tasted good. You know, the more I look at the above photos again the more my stomach starts to rumble.
There's also freshly carved prime rib and pork you can fill up on. While I love seeing these carving options, I found the overall selection at the main buffet to be quite limited, but it was all very tasty.
The story somewhat continues with dessert, I found there wasn't a huge selection. However, I'm not a huge dessert guy so that didn't bother me all that much. I had some apple cobbler and ice cream to finish off which was tasty. While we were eating our desserts, we had a cast member (who was not our main server) bring over the bill. I know that annoys some people, but it generally doesn't bother me. What did annoy me though, was that he returned a couple of minutes after - while we were visibly still eating dessert - and asked if we were done with it, even though it hadn't moved. That, I didn't care for.
As you'd expect, all the characters were fantastic throughout the meal. We managed to spend some time with most of them twice as they made their way around, and they were just as playful and fun the second time.
Overall, even though the food on offer was tasty and fresh, I found the selection quite lacklustre, especially when compared to Hollywood & Vine and other buffets. However, if you want quality time with Pooh & friends, there's nowhere else you're going to get that, and Crystal Palace might be worth the price for you for that reason alone.
