Trading Up And Down Disney Dining Plan Credits Guide
|
Guide 05-May-2018 |
One of Disney's most passionately "is it worth it?" debates is the one based around the Disney Dining Plan. For us Brits, we don't really have to have that debate because we get one of the best free Disney Dining offers. For most people, booking when that offer is active is a no-brainer.
A common question we get asked is how dining plan credits can be traded. It somewhat worries me that it's not made more clear because we often get asked "how many quick services do I have to trade to eat at Tusker House (table service credit)?" So I have put together a guide to help explain what trades you can do with your dining plan credits.
Trade UP your table service credits
Nowhere to trade up to.
Trade UP your quick service credits
You cannot trade your quick service credits for table service credits.
Trade UP your snack credits
You cannot trade up snacks credits for table or quick service credits.
Trade DOWN your table service credits
You can use 1 table service credit for 1 quick service meal (do this by simply asking to use a table service credit when purchasing your quick service email).
You cannot trade table service credit for snacks
Trade DOWN your quick service credits
You can use 1 quick service credit for 3 snacks (this can be done at any Disney resort or park).
Trade DOWN your snacks credits
Nowhere to trade down to.
Can I use 1 credit and pay the difference at a 2 credit restaurant?
No, if a restaurant requires 2 table service credits, you either have to use 2 credits or pay out of pocket.
During the free dining offer, if you're staying at a Deluxe resort, you get the free standard table service dining plan. However, if you're staying at a moderate resort (Caribbean Beach, Coronado Springs, Port Orleans), you get the quick service dining plan. This does not give you access to table service credits. You can however (which we think you should) is pay to upgrade your quick service dining plan to the standard table service dining plan. It costs around £17per person per night, but it gives you access all the table service restaurants like Be Our Guest, Tusker House, Chef Mickey and many many more. On the quick service plan you get 2 quick service and 2 snacks a day, on the table service plan you get 1 table service, 1 quick service and 2 snacks a day. (Also keep in mind you will have to tip at table service restaurants.)
