COVID-19 Models Now Show Florida Possible Restriction Relaxation From June 11
The process to begin relaxing social distancing might have been extended, due to the most recent models of the Coronavirus spread.
Last week, healthdata.org updated their COVID-19 models (with data from various public sources) to showcase when certain provinces could start relaxing restrictions. The data last week suggested that restrictions could start to be eased on June 1st. Today, the models have been updated again which extends that date to June 11th based on recent data. This might indicate that people were not following social distancing during the Easter break as much as hoped. However, in better news, the state of Florida is past their death rate peak.
After June 11, 2020, relaxing social distancing may be possible with containment strategies that include testing, contact tracing, isolation, and limiting gathering size.
Keep in mind, even if Walt Disney World opens in June, it's still not yet known if travel bans will be lifted.
