Ash Hales - Mickey From The UK

Ash Hales is a British Disney Parks writer and the voice behind Mickey From The UK. Based in the South West of England, he has been visiting Disney Parks for nearly three decades, starting with Disneyland Paris as a wide-eyed child and Walt Disney World as a teenager who had no idea he was starting a lifelong and rather expensive habit.

Since launching Mickey From The UK in 2017, Ash has made dozens of trips to Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris and on Disney Cruise Line, all as a British guest. He visits several times a year with his wife, and sometimes his wider family. The recommendations on the site come from his own trips, paid for with his own money, along with an annual tradition of convincing his bank that nobody has stolen his card and he's just in Florida again.

A web developer by trade, Ash built Mickey From The UK himself in 2017 because he couldn't find a Disney Parks site written with British visitors in mind. He writes the guides he always wanted when planning his own trips, with straight-talking advice and none of the American bias.

Mickey From The UK now has over 200,000 followers across Facebook, the Facebook Group, Instagram, Threads and X. You can also follow Ash directly on X at @ashhalesuk.

The site has been cited as a source on Wikipedia and an essay by Yale School of Management, published inTIME.

His favourite park is EPCOT, his favourite attraction is Haunted Mansion, and his favourite restaurant is Jiko - a position occasionally threatened by the Garden Grill breakfast.
