Disney opened up the new park reservation system on June 22nd for guests with valid tickets and who had a resort stay booked. Many of us were on the Disney page at noon to start making our reservations, and encountered various errors, including the "Just A Moment.." castle image. It took some guests hours to finally get their and make their reservation.
Weirdly, a Disney spokesman's talked with CBS news to say the system was working just fine, the errors were down to user error and people "likely trying to book before it was their turn".
Customers said they waited for hours to access the system and, by the time they were able to get in, found that some days and attractions were booked to capacity. When some users tried to book, they were met with a "Just a Moment" message that lingered on the screen while users were faced with a blank screen.
A Disney spokesperson told CBS MoneyWatch the reservation system had no such glitch. Disney had made the system available Monday first for people with a previous Disney World resort reservation, the spokesperson said. The system will be available for annual pass holders this Friday and for the general public on Sunday.
People who couldn't reserve Monday probably thought it was a glitch, but in reality, they were likely trying to book before it was their turn, the spokesperson said.
