With the relief that Heathrow came to agreement with staff to cancel the holiday strikes this summer, now comes the news that 1000 Gatwick staff including baggage handlers and check-in staff, are due to strike (via Sky News). Unite has scheduled the strikes for the end of July and the start of August. They have warned that delays and cancellations are "inevitable".
The workers will strike initially for four days beginning on Friday 28 July and ending on Tuesday 1 August. A further four days of strikes are scheduled to take place from Friday 4 August until Tuesday 8 August.
