[UK] Heathrow airport is now doing fast turnaround coronavirus tests to allow passengers to fly to Hong Kong, this is what the future of travel could look like.
We reported last weekend that US officials are looking to setup Coronavirus testing on departure and arrivals for UK to US flights to open up travel corridors between the countries. This will be the best way forward until a vaccine is rolled out worldwide to resume travel for work and pleasure. Officials are optimistic they can get these plans rolling by the holidays (AKA Christmas) 2020 on the New York to London routes, later expanding to more routes, including Orlando.
The BBC today reports that a trial is now live for flights between Heathrow and Hong Kong. Hong Kong requires a negative COVID-19 test to enter the country. Passengers can pay £80 for a test and the result is guaranteed within an hour. This will likely be the future to travel by air as testing is now underway.
