Polynesian Resort Closed Until Summer 2021, New Rooms To be Inspired By Moana
News - WDW 31-Aug-2020
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is currently closed to hotel guests. Disney originally planned to reopen on August 12th, which was then later pushed to October 4th. Now, Disney are telling guests that the hotel will not be open until summer 2021. On the plus side, they are using this time to do various refurbishment work around the resort. The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that the newly refurbished rooms will be inspired by "Moana". Concept art will be released at a later date.
The Villas & Bungalows will remain open as DVC resorts must open due to timeshare laws.
As we continue to reopen additional Disney Resort hotels to Guests, we are modifying the reopening date for Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort which will reopen next summer. This schedule adjustment also allows us to complete some refurbishment work at the Resort hotel, including enhancements to the Great Ceremonial House and Guest rooms. We expect work to begin in early October and look forward to sharing more about these changes in the future. The Villas and Bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will remain open during this refurbishment.
We understand the amount of planning that goes into a Disney vacation and we are reaching out to you about your clients with upcoming reservations that are impacted by these changes, at least four weeks before their arrival. Our Cast Members will be able to assist with modifying their reservations to other Disney Resort hotels.
