TUI has announced a new wave of flight cancellations through June 30th, primarily at Manchester airport, but others too. The reason for these cancellations is due to staff shortages at the airports. The UK government said slashing staff through the crisis (COVID) would lead to problems with the ramp-up post-pandemic, however fails to realise that furlough ended quite some time before international travel opened up again. While TUI and other airlines are doing what they can, things apparently will "get worse before they get better".
The good news for anyone travelling to Walt Disney World in the next month or two, the cancellations seem to be primarily for Europe, and long haul flights to Orlando are still going ahead.
