News - Travel 10-Jun-2022
Travel industry bosses across the US and UK have long called for an end to the US testing requirements, especially as the UK dropped them some months ago. Travel industry bosses have claimed the testing requirements has deterred people from booking international trips.
Today, the White House has announced (via Sky News) that the CDC will be scrapping the pre-departure test requirement for USA entry starting this Sunday June 12th (via the CDC website). Travellers will no longer have to show proof of a negative COVID test when entering the USA by plane, nor do unvaccinated children have to take the 3-5 day test. All travellers aged 18 and over still need to be fully vaccinated.
As of 12:01AM ET on June 12, 2022, CDC will no longer require air passengers traveling from a foreign country to the United States to show a negative COVID-19 viral test or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 before they board their flight.
