New Resort Parking Charges Do Not Apply To UK Guests For Now
News 23-Apr-2018
Last month Disney announced it would begin charging for parking at its Disney World resorts. A perk that has always been free for staying onsite. The internet went mad with people calling off trips and criticising Disney for the accused greedy move. We wrote how Disney has been annoying their UK fans recently but there were some rumblings that these parking charges would not apply to UK guests yet.
That sounded strange.
As the start date for these new charges have passed, all bookings made from March 21st will be charged parking when they check-out depending on how many nights they stayed. However, Disney have updated their UK site to confirm that UK guests will not have to pay these new charges yet – but we will soon. See the Disney FAQ quote below.
"Overnight resort parking charges are applicable to Disney Resort Hotel Guests who book on or after 21st March 2018. However, Guests residing in the UK or Ireland will not be charged for overnight resort parking until 31st December 2019. "
So for now, we are safe from these new charges until bookings made in 2020 and beyond.
