✅ Really cool theming and great atmosphere throughout
👠Good cocktails and drinks but not particularly strong
🆗 Food was mostly below average, but there are a couple of good items
⌠Barely any covered waiting area while waiting to be seated
We headed to the check-in area and got checked in. The cast members told us they were running around 30 minutes late, so we had to wait a while to be seated. While that's not the end of the world, if you know Toy Story Land at Disney's Hollywood Studios, there aren't many covered places to wait. There was criticism of Toy Story Land not having much cover, but it seems that while building this new restaurant, no thought was given to shade and cover except for maybe 3 or 4 umbrellas, two of which the cast members rightfully were using for shade. Around 20 guests or so were outside waiting in the sweltering sun. Even if there wasn't a delay, it sucks. It doesn't get much better when you're told your table is ready; you still have to wait outside for your name to be called. There is a tiny waiting area inside, but you can't fit many people in there as you're blocking access to the toilets. It does baffle me why there wasn't more thought for cover when building this brand-new restaurant, but I digress.
Once inside, you can appreciate how well done the theming is throughout. Although there are a lot of tables and chairs - which are all hard metal - it had quite a nice atmosphere overall.

I thoroughly enjoyed the fact that the plates were designed to resemble paper plates. Additionally, you'll find three different BBQ sauces already on your table when you arrive.

On the topic of BBQ, I naturally tried all three. The classic one was watery but still enjoyable. The sweet one was thick and not overly sweet, while the spicy one was watery again but had a pleasant kick. In terms of texture, I found the sweet sauce to be the best, but for taste, the spicy one was my favourite.
Here's a look at the menu. Everything is served family-style. This means that you can order extra and as much as you want. We didn't want any extra, so we never took advantage of that.

We ordered two of their cocktails as well. We tried the "Rum On The Range," which was delicious and tasted like an alcoholic chocolate milkshake. We also had the "Rum Punch," which was also delicious and very tropical. Both were very nice, but not overly strong.

Moving on to the food, it wasn't particularly great. Nothing was bad enough to complain about, but it was just generally uninspired. However, there were a couple of good items.

First, we were served with some cheese biscuits (or scones) topped with sweet jelly. These were actually quite delicious, although I would have preferred some butter over the jelly.

After our biscuits, we were served some salads! The salad was nice and fresh, and the dressing was not overly bitter. The melon salad was amusingly just a bowl of melon.

✅ The brisket was actually quite tasty and a highlight of the meal
✅ The street corn side was good and another highlight
🆗 Ribs were average and absolutely needed some sauce
🆗 The tater tots were a bit overcooked and the topping sauce was bland
⌠Although appears to be a fan favourite, we did not care for the flavouring on the sausage at all
⌠Something about the smell of the chicken put me off. I did try a little bit and it was dry anyway
⌠The Mac & Cheese side was most tasteless Mac & Cheese I've ever had at Walt Disney World
⌠The BBQ beans tasted cheap and low-quality

For dessert, each guest gets to choose one. We were a bit cheeky and asked for the infamous Forky cupcake too. The chocolate silk pie tasted just like the chocolate moose tubs you can buy at Sainsbury's - which I quite like. The strawberry pie was just average, nothing special. Finally, the Forky cupcake was quite flavorless, but the Forky himself was a nice bit of shortbread.
The service was pretty good here, though. I noticed a few of the other servers, and they were always in character and having fun with guests. Our server was friendly and even made a few British jokes, which is always a giggle with Americans.
Below was our bill. You used to get a giant pencil to sign the check, but apparently, those were removed because guests were stealing them. Thanks for ruining some of the fun whoever you are.

As I mentioned initially, I had high expectations for Roundup Rodeo BBQ, as I do for most new Walt Disney World restaurants. However, my experience left me mostly disappointed. The theming is charming, the service was great, and the "Andy's coming" skit is enjoyable when it occurs. However, the absence of covered waiting areas in a new building is puzzling, the food overall was mediocre, and the seating largely uncomfortable.
Unless you and your family are specifically interested in a Toy Story-themed restaurant (although there are no characters here), I wouldn't recommend Roundup Rodeo BBQ. You won't have a bad time here, I just don't think you'll have a memorable one. There are so many amazing places to eat at Walt Disney World that's more worth your time and money. If you're after this type of food though, I suggest visiting Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue or the quick-service options at Disney Springs, such as Polite Pig.
