Sebastian's Bistro At Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort Review
Review - WDW 24-Oct-2022
Sebastian's Bistro is a family-style restaurant that serves Latin and Caribbean foods. I will say off the bat though, this is probably the best value table-service restaurant on property. It cost us just $29 per person (although it's now $32 for adults and $19 for kids). In summary:
🤔 Probably the best value meal at Walt Disney World. Just $32 for adults and $19 for kids for a table service family-style all you can eat meal
💤 Took 25 mins to be seated though (8pm reservation, our bums in seats 825pm)
✅ Bread service with guava butter was divine
✅ Salad was good but I’m super fussy with dressing. It was slightly too sour for my taste, but it was all very fresh
✅ The entree options were mostly really good. The pulled pork had like a zesty like flavouring I didn’t care for, but the steak, chicken, vegetable curry, and rice were all outstanding
🆗 Coconut Shrimp add-on ($10 extra) is okay. Wasn't a huge fan of batter but overall it was fine
✅ Pineapple bread pudding was so good, but was so full could only manage a bite
It was a lovely walk from the Skyliner station at Disney's Caribbean Beach over to the area where Sebastian's Bistro was located. It's been many years since I've been to Disney's Caribbean Beach, and I've forgot how much of a beautiful resort it is.
We got to Sebastian's Bistro early so decided to grab a drink at the pool bar next door, take a seat, and enjoy the view. When it was 8pm, we checked in, and then waited to be called. Sadly, we weren't off to a great start as it took around 25 minutes for us to get called- and I was hungry!
The restaurant itself is quite nice and there are lots of The Little Mermaid touches around the place, although it overall feels a bit like a typical quick-service American-style diner at times, for better or for worse.
Our server was Mo who was the only British server we had this trip- which is always a giggle. He started by taking our drinks order and bringing us the bread service. The bread rolls were nothing special, but the Guava Butter was really nice!
This is a family-style restaurant, which means your server will bring all the food out to you and you're free to ask for more. First up was the salad which was fresh, but I am personally not a fan of a lot of vinaigrettes, and this one was too sour for me.
Our main course came out which consisted of Oven-roasted Citrus Chicken, Slow-cooked Mojo Pork with Mango Sambal, Grilled Chili-rubbed Beef with Mojito Relish served with Cilantro Rice and Beans, Vegetable Curry, and Grilled Seasonal Vegetables.
On this plate was the vegetable curry, broccolini, and cilantro rice. The vegetable curry is a stand out for me- it was really delicious. I have also found a new love for this cilantro rice which I enjoyed a lot more than I thought.
Onto the main plate- it was all good! The beef was tasty but a little chewy, the pulled pork was nice, and the chicken was also good. Overall nothing amazing but also nothing even close to bad either.
We added the Coconut Shrimp to our meal - which cost $8 more (although it's $10 now) - to try. This was probably the only let down of the meal. The shrimp was fine, but coconut batter wasn't particularly good.
The dessert was absolutely beautiful. It was a House-made Coconut-Pineapple Bread Pudding with Caramel Sauce and Vanilla Ice Cream. The bread pudding was so good and the thick caramel sauce poured over the top was divine.
Overall, Sebastian's Bistro was a solid tasty meal at a great price. For us, I think it's probably a one and done. It doesn't make our top list to go back to, but we would absolutely recommend you try it. A good all-you-can-eat family-style restaurant for $32 on Disney property makes it probably one of the best value meals at Walt Disney World. I think this place is perfect for families on a budget who want the restaurant experience, good food, and not a huge bill at the end.
