So, you've barely recovered from your 2026 trip - either booked or looking to book 2027 - but you're already eyeing up 2028. There's no shame in that! Walt Disney World 2028 is very much on people's radar, and if you're sitting there searching "when can I book Walt Disney World 2028," you're in very good company.

While 2027 is currently on sale - and plenty of people are already asking where the Free Disney Dining Plan for 2027 has got to - some among us want to know what's happening for 2028.

One of the reasons so many people start planning this far ahead is that when you book direct through Disney, you can secure your holiday for just £50 per person deposit. That's a remarkably low commitment, which makes it very easy to get the date in the diary and sort the finer details later.

When Can You Book Walt Disney World 2028?

This is the big question, and the honest answer is: not yet - but we can make a fairly educated guess based on what Disney has done previously.

Historically, Disney tends to release bookings for an entire year at the start of the year before. Here's how that's looked recently:

  • 2025 dates - went on sale on 13th February 2024
  • 2026 dates - went on sale on 28th January 2025
  • 2027 dates - released slightly early, in December 2025, rather than waiting until early 2026

Following that pattern, we'd expect Walt Disney World 2028 bookings to go on sale either after Christmas 2026 or in early 2027. Disney did jump the gun a little for 2027, so there's a chance 2028 dates could appear sooner than you'd expect - but we wouldn't hold your breath until Christmas.

Can You Book 2028 Orlando Holidays Right Now?

If you're not planning to stay in a Walt Disney World hotel, you might have options.

Off-Site Hotels via Travel Agents

If you're planning to stay off-site in Orlando, you've got a head start. Travel agents including TUI and Virgin Atlantic Holidays are already taking bookings for 2028 Orlando stays. These tend to cover hotels outside the Disney bubble - think the International Drive area, Universal zone, and the like. If you know you want to be in Orlando but haven't committed to staying on Disney property, it's worth having a browse to lock in early pricing and availability, particularly for the summer school holidays which go fast.

Bear in mind that packages from these agents for 2028 will include flights and accommodation, but won't yet include official Disney park tickets - because Disney hasn't released them. More on that below.

Disney On-Site Hotels and Packages

Unfortunately, you cannot yet book an official Walt Disney World resort hotel or package for 2028. Disney controls this tightly, and until they flip the switch, on-site stays simply aren't available - regardless of what any third party might tell you.

What To Watch Out For With 2028 Bookings

This bit is important, so do read it before handing over any money.

While it might be tempting to get your 2028 Disney trip sorted as soon as possible, there are some travel agents who will happily take your deposit for dates that don't actually exist yet. What they're doing is essentially taking an educated guess at what the price will be, sitting on your money, and then booking it properly once Disney releases the real dates. Cheeky, to put it politely.

The problems this causes are pretty predictable: the price they guessed doesn't match the actual price, leaving you with an unwanted conversation and potentially a bill for the difference. We've heard from plenty of readers who've been caught out this way, so please do be cautious.

The safest approach is simple:

  • Wait for Disney to officially release 2028 dates before booking anything on-site
  • Check the Disney Holidays website directly to confirm dates are live
  • If a travel agent claims they can book 2028 Disney stays before Disney has announced them, ask them to confirm in writing exactly what they're booking and on what basis - and that the dates and prices are absolutely guaranteed - before you hand over a penny. If they won't, walk away. I honestly still wouldn't hand over a penny either way though.

What Should You Do Right Now?

If 2028 is genuinely on the cards for you, here's a sensible plan of action:

  • Start saving - obvious, but worth saying. A Walt Disney World trip from the UK is not cheap, and the earlier you start, the less painful it is.
  • Research resorts - even if you can't book yet, you can absolutely decide where you'd like to stay. Disney's resort tiers (Value, Moderate, Deluxe) vary enormously in price and experience.
  • Keep an eye on this site - we'll be reporting as soon as 2028 booking dates are confirmed.
  • Don't hand over money to anyone for a 2028 Disney on-site package until Disney has officially released the dates.
