The show projects animated animal stories onto the Tree of Life at Discovery Island, and it only takes place once it's dark. The park closes before sunset for a good chunk of the year, so Awakenings disappears for the lighter months. The return date lines up with US clocks going back an hour on 1st November 2026, which brings Orlando's sunset forward by an hour.
When Does Tree Of Life Awakenings Return In 2026?
The first performances are on Sunday 1st November 2026. Disney's calendar lists the opening week below, and each time is the window during which the show repeats rather than a single performance.
| Date | Showtimes (Orlando time) |
|---|---|
| Sunday 1st November 2026 | 6:10pm to 8pm |
| Monday 2nd November 2026 | 6:10pm to 7pm |
| Tuesday 3rd November 2026 | No performances listed |
| Wednesday 4th November 2026 | No performances listed |
| Thursday 5th November 2026 | 6:10pm to 7pm |
| Friday 6th November 2026 | 6:10pm to 7pm |
| Saturday 7th November 2026 | 6:10pm to 8pm |
Times taken from Disney's official entertainment calendar on 22nd October 2026 and subject to change.
Sunday 1st and Saturday 7th November get the longer window, roughly 110 minutes of repeat performances between 6:10pm and 8pm. The other three show nights finish at 7pm, which gives you 50 minutes. Disney says the show runs approximately every 10 minutes, so even the shorter nights give you more than one chance to see it. You can check the latest times on Disney's Tree of Life Awakenings page.

Why Is Tree Of Life Awakenings Not On Every Night?
Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th November 2026 have no times listed. Disney says the show begins after dark and runs until the park closes, and with the earliest listed performance at 6:10pm, a 6pm closing leaves no window for it.
Wednesday 4th November is also an Extended Evening Hours night at Animal Kingdom, when guests staying at selected Disney hotels can stay in the park after it closes to everyone else. Even so, no Awakenings times are listed for that evening.
Before you plan an evening around the show, check Animal Kingdom's park hours on Disney's website for your dates. If closing time is 6pm, there's no show that night.
What Do You See During Tree Of Life Awakenings?
Projections play across the animals carved into the Tree of Life's trunk, starting with fireflies that wake up the animal spirits inside it. One story follows a young doe setting off on a journey and another has two hummingbirds falling for each other, while a fox hands out gifts around a wintry forest in a third.
There's no height requirement, and it's a show you watch, so there's nothing to queue for.
