Is It Worth Renewing Now?
If your passport is running low on time or you have a Disney trip coming up in the next year or two, it's worth considering whether to renew before 8th April to lock in the current price. A family of four renewing online before the deadline would save around £22 compared to doing it after - not a fortune, but not nothing either.
The Home Office has confirmed that in 2025, 99.7% of standard UK applications where no further information was required were processed within three weeks - so turnaround times are generally reliable, though as always, don't leave it to the last minute before you travel. We renewed a passport earlier this year and received it within 10 days, though it's worth noting we applied outside of the busy season.
You can apply or renew your passport using the online government website.
