Virgin Atlantic has announced they are strengthening their long-haul flying offerings from Manchester, increasing capacity to Orlando following Aer Lingus' decision to no longer operate long-haul flights from the airport.

Virgin Atlantic will boost Manchester–Orlando capacity by 12% in peak Summer 2026 reinforcing Virgin Atlantic’s long-term commitment to its home in the North. In addition, capacity will be increased by 17% in Winter 2026 as services to Orlando will be upgraded to the airline’s A350-1000 aircraft, with further capacity increases from Manchester expected to follow for Summer 2027. Virgin Atlantic is also welcoming a number of Aer Lingus pilots into the business, helping to retain highly skilled aviation roles in the region.

The extra flights added to their current capacity goes on sale today, February 3rd, 2026, on the Virgin Atlantic website.
