Walt Disney World will continue its 1 water park operation this summer. Disney's Blizzard Beach will close on April 30th, and Disney's Typhoon Lagoon will reopen on May 1st for the summer season.
Disney's Blizzard Beach will be celebrating its 30th anniversary on the final month of operating starting on April 1st through April 30th.
On the water park's 30th anniversary on April 1, there will be a live DJ spinning icy tunes, several meet & greet opportunities with popular Disney characters dressed in winter attire and special digital frozen-photo frames to highlight guests' memories from that day. For the remainder of the Blizzard Beach season, which runs through the end of April, guests can experience anniversary-themed dance parties, games and temporary 30th anniversary tattoos, plus merchandise, food and beverages and “snow†much more.
At the culmination of the anniversary celebration, the water park fun switches over to the tropical oasis water park at Walt Disney World Resort, Typhoon Lagoon, which reopens May 1 featuring tropical-themed experiences created by a legendary typhoon that once struck the island, leaving behind a quirky collection of wrecked boats, a stranded fishing pier and a unique blend of fun and adventure.
