Following the news that Aer Lingus has stopped Manchester to Orlando flights comes the news that the airline's owner, IAG, who owns both Aer Lingus and British Airways anticipates there might be some demand left on the table they don't want hoovered up by competitor Virgin Atlantic.
Although it's not entirely helpful for those up north, British Airways for the summer 2026 season will be offering a new direct route to Orlando from London Heathrow. The airline already offers direct daily flights from London Gatwick, but travellers now have the option to fly direct from Heathrow this summer.
The flight out is a lovely early 820am flight landing into Orlando at 1255pm. The return flights are 610pm arriving back at 745am. The service appears to operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays during the 2026 summer school holidays.
