Disney has finally retired the confusing Genie+ branding when it comes to their The paid-for skip-the-line service. The paid-for skip-the-line service (that was called Genie+) will continue with the name "Lightning Lane Multi Pass". The Individual Lightning Lane service will now be called "Lightning Lane Single Pass".

What You Need To Know

Do you remember booking your three Fastpass+ selects 60 days in advance? We're essentially going back to that (although it's no longer included with your ticket). Starting July 24th, 2024, you'll be able to purchase both Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass up to 7 days in advance (for up to 14 days) for guests of Disney Resort hotels, and 3 days in advance for anyone staying offsite. You can then pick three attractions to book (in one park) for that day, just like before with the Fastpass+ system, on the day you may select more attractions subject to availability after you use your first selection.

The "Lightning Lane Single Pass" will work just as before where the most popular attractions can be booked in advance at the daily a la carte rate exactly how it worked before Individual Lightning Lane.

The free Disney Genie service which gives you park recommendations in the app will remain.

What about UK Guests?

At this time it appears guests in the UK cannot book Lightning Lanes in advance as it seems to be an option for US and Canadian guests only, unless you use a VPN which will not be ideal for the vast majority of guests. We are awaiting official confirmation and clarity on this issue. See our article UK Guests Will NOT Be Able To Book Their Lightning Lanes In Advance for any updates.
