According to the Orlando Sentinel, they have received documents from the Reedy Creek Improvement District who have confirmed the rumours about a Disney World gondola system. Disney however, are keeping their mouth shut. The only thing that is known at this time that each "car' will hold up to 10 guests.

This gondola system appears to connect Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney's Art of Animation and Disney's Pop Century resorts.

Depending on the structure, it is unsure how reliable they'll be, especially during hurricane season. But having extra transportation options other than relying on buses (for most resorts) is going to be welcome. They might also offer some spectacular views around the resorts and parks like the monorail does. The downside is that the connected resorts may see price increases for the extra convenience. We'll have to wait and see.
