Disneyland Paris are notifying guests with upcoming stays that they owe extra money. What appears to be a move by the French government to capitalise on the Olympics this year, "tourist tax" - which applies to hotels in France for those visiting from abroad - has been increased starting January 1st, 2024. If you've visited Disneyland Paris in the recent years you probably wouldn't know tourist tax was a thing, as the tax is just bundled into the price you paid for your package. Disney are telling guests that because the tax amount you paid when you booked is lower than the new rate, you owe the difference. Disney states that in terms and conditions they can increase the price of your package as a result of changes in taxes after you've booked and paid, with at least 20 days notice.

Keep in mind for a few guests this email has been going into the junk/spam folder, so if you think this might apply to you (as in you booked last year and have an upcoming stay this year), keep an eye out for it.

To learn all about the France "Tourist Tax" see our guide: What Is France Tourist Tax And How Much Is It?

  • Disney Sequoia Lodge® - £4.81
  • Disney Hotel Cheyenne® - £4.81
  • Disney Hotel Santa Fe® - £3.01

Dear Guest,

The tourist tax payable by adults aged 18 and over is based on the rate in force on the date of your stay. For operational reasons, Disneyland® Paris collects the amount of this tax at the time of booking based on the rate in effect on the date of your reservation. Since the date on which you made your reservation, the amount of this tax has increased as of 1 st January 2024. For all stays from this date, Disneyland® Paris will therefore have to pay to the authorities a higher amount than that initially collected from you. See rates by Disney® Hotels in the list below.

In accordance with our Terms and Conditions of Sale, the price of your package may be increased after you have booked where increase is the direct consequence of changes in taxes included in the package price and you are informed thereof no later than 20 days prior to the start of the package. We would therefore like to inform you that the price of your package will be increased by the amount of the additional tax per night and per person over the age of 18, in accordance with the list below.

We invite you to call us on the phone number indicated in your booking confirmation to pay the additional amount, in accordance with the payment terms provided at the time of booking, no later than 7 days before the start of your stay.

The entire Disneyland ® Paris team looks forward to welcoming you for your stay.
